Chemicals legislation
For the protection of people, nature and the environment, legislation has been approved to prevent risks resulting from the use of chemicals . Our coatings and the raw materials used to produce them are subject to these chemical regulations.
At European level, there is the REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), the most extensive set of rules in chemicals regulation.
Another aspect of chemicals regulation is that of classification and labelling. These globally agreed rules of the GHS (Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals of the United Nations) are implemented at a European level by means of the CLP Regulation (Regulation on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures).
Individual substances are subject to special provisions, both generally under REACH and special, occasionally sector-specific regulations (ROHS).
