ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD
The ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD products are our most versatile coating products.
These products comprise two components, which must be mixed before application.
ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD result from the reaction of OH-containing components such as polyacrylates with isocyanate-containing materials. After burning-in and crosslinking, a polyurethane network is formed. The selection of the two components makes it possible to adjust a broad palette of properties.
The biggest advantage of these coatings is their ability to crosslink at relatively low temperatures: some systems crosslink even at room temperature. This can reduce the cost of thermal burn-in accordingly. Moreover, the coatings can be applied to temperature-sensitive substrates such as composites, for example.
Despite the low burn-in temperature, ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD coatings feature very good abrasion resistance as well as chemical and UV stability. With appropriate pretreatment, bonding to common substrates is excellent.
Uses for these coatings include exterior applications and points of use requiring a low burn-in temperature.
Both systems can be further modified to incorporate additional properties.
