The ILATECH Resist coatings are made of three to four layers, making them some of the highest quality coatings ILAG offers.

ILATECH Resist coatings present outstanding abrasion resistance and mechanical properties, are corrosion-resistant and possess excellent release properties. Their longevity is additionally remarkable, especially when formulated as a four-layer system.

Given their excellent performance, coatings out of the ILATECH Resist range are particularly indicated for high-end applications.

ILATECH R

The ILATECH R products are based on polyethersulfones (PES).

These coatings feature good chemical resistance and dielectric properties. With appropriate pretreatment, the products of the ILATECH R assortment bond to a wide range of substrates.

ILATECH R coatings are used in many different application areas, including the automotive and medical industries, and also in industrial release processes.

ILATECH WPE, waterborne - Most Use Line

The products of the ILATECH WPE series consist of water-soluble and NMP free binders.

They are considered the environmentally friendly alternative to the solvent-based equivalents, as not only can the application tools be cleaned with water, but the coating itself was also formulated to be water-based. In addition, the low baking temperature of only 180 °C [356 °F] helps keep energy consumption low.

These coatings have very good mechanical resistance and are chemically resistant to most common solvents and acids.

ILATECH WPE is applied as a single-layer system, a wide range of colors is possible.
Depending on the selected fluoropolymer and the degree of reinforcement, different properties and qualities can be achieved.

Advantages of products from the ILATECH WPE series:

• Significantly lower VOC content in the wet paint
• Gentle on hardened steel blades as the curing temperature is below 200 °C [392 °F]
• Abrasion-resistant coating with very good cut and sliding properties
• Large selection of colors possible

ILATECH X

The ILATECH X products are composed of two layers.

The primer considerably improves the mechanical properties and the corrosion resistance of the coating while the top coat imparts excellent release properties to it.

The top-coat is mainly composed of a dispersion of fluoropolymers in water, which can be PTFE, PFA, FEP or a blend.

The coatings from the ILATECH X range present good abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and outstanding release properties. They are therefore particularly recommended in applications where residues are a problem.

Further properties can also be obtained with the addition of additives or the use of special raw materials.

ILATECH SG

ILAG possesses a wide range of products out of a sol-gel route, having various quality grades and additional properties, such as an improved flexibility or a higher viscosity. These inorganic products are among the hardest of all ILAGs products.

The basic chemistry behind these coatings is the acid catalyzed hydrolysis of an alkoxysilane, followed by the subsequent condensation of the silanols obtained into a 3D-network.

The glass-like ceramic coating obtained through this route presents an extraordinary hardness, excellent release properties and are fireproof.

Since their curing temperature is relatively low, a wide range of substrates can be used, being metallic and non metallic. In most cases, sandblasting or the use of a primer to promote adhesion will be required.

Due to their temperature stability, and their excellent release and mechanical properties, these coatings are very well indicated for high temperature and/or easy to clean applications.
