ILATECH EP

The ILATECH EP products are made out of an epoxy basis system.

ILATECH EP coatings offer outstanding corrosion and chemical resistance and their adhesion on most common substrate is excellent.

In order to achieve their full performance, these coatings must be cross-linked, so that a three-dimensional network is obtained. For that purpose, the epoxy resin must be reacted with components able to interact with its epoxide groups. Certain properties, such as the temperature stability or the flexibility of the coating, can be finely tuned according to the kind of hardener selected; therefore, a wide range of requirements can be met.

Since their curing temperature is relatively low, various metallic and non-metallic substrates can be used.

Further properties can also be obtained with the addition of additives or the use of special raw materials.

ILATECH R

The ILATECH R products are based on polyethersulfones (PES).

These coatings feature good chemical resistance and dielectric properties. With appropriate pretreatment, the products of the ILATECH R assortment bond to a wide range of substrates.

ILATECH R coatings are used in many different application areas, including the automotive and medical industries, and also in industrial release processes.

Our standard systems can be modified for specific applications and customized with special properties.

ILATECH SG

ILAG possesses a wide range of products out of a sol-gel route, having various quality grades and additional properties, such as an improved flexibility or a higher viscosity. These inorganic products are among the hardest of all ILAGs products.

The basic chemistry behind these coatings is the acid catalyzed hydrolysis of an alkoxysilane, followed by the subsequent condensation of the silanols obtained into a 3D-network.

The glass-like ceramic coating obtained through this route presents an extraordinary hardness, excellent release properties and are fireproof.

Since their curing temperature is relatively low, a wide range of substrates can be used, being metallic and non metallic. In most cases, sandblasting or the use of a primer to promote adhesion will be required.

Due to their temperature stability, and their excellent release and mechanical properties, these coatings are very well indicated for high temperature and/or easy to clean applications.

ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD

The ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD products are our most versatile coating products.

These products comprise two components, which must be mixed before application.

ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD result from the reaction of OH-containing components such as polyacrylates with isocyanate-containing materials. After burning-in and crosslinking, a polyurethane network is formed. The selection of the two components makes it possible to adjust a broad palette of properties.

The biggest advantage of these coatings is their ability to crosslink at relatively low temperatures: some systems crosslink even at room temperature. This can reduce the cost of thermal burn-in accordingly. Moreover, the coatings can be applied to temperature-sensitive substrates such as composites, for example.

Despite the low burn-in temperature, ILATECH K2 and ILATECH DD coatings feature very good abrasion resistance as well as chemical and UV stability. With appropriate pretreatment, bonding to common substrates is excellent.

Uses for these coatings include exterior applications and points of use requiring a low burn-in temperature.

Both systems can be further modified to incorporate additional properties.
